Online Store
This multi-currency, multi-language interactive discount vitamins store is huge.
Over 50 brands, 100 categories and over 2,000 products for international posting. This was a challenge.
Australian Vitamins wanted a website that had an Australian feel for life.
The design provides Australian locations, culture, plants and wildlife as a means to make the visitor feel warm and welcome.
Clever tabs allow for the display of 40 products before the user even needs to scroll, as well as the twitter feed, latest products, products on special, featured videos and text content.
With over 50 categories of product and an exceptional amount of brands, the navigation system has to make it easy for visitors to quickly get to the category or brand they wanted.
The navigation system consists of two orange dropdowns that when clicked, slide the page down and present all categories and brands. There is also a top categories and brands section on the left if someone is just browsing and wants to find products everyone is buying at the moment.
Through search research, it has been found most people shop for products by brand and not by the use.
With this in mind, we created landing pages for brands which display the brand's logo, description and products available. This allows Google to index these pages appropriately and add to the search results when searches are made using the brand name.
Current trends in online stores demonstrate the need to provide added value to customers.
Australian Vitamins can sell product cheaper if buying in bulk and this is evident in the data provided to the visitor when they save. At all times, if a shopper adds bulk items to their cart, they see what they are saving which provides encouragement to buy more or complete the transaciton.
Products sold by Australian Vitamins sometimes need to have prescriptions, precautions and warnings, so the site ensures the right information is provided to the visitor.
Customers ordering through Australian Vitamins sometimes do not even know they wanted a product. It is through videos and articles which are linked and clicked from Google that educates visitors on products with quick and easy options for purchase.
Google also loves when websites use their services so integrating You Tube encourages visitors to watch videos and be immersed in content.
Most online stores never give out phone numbers or physical locations. Australian Vitamins does!
They want to talk to their customers, gain feedback, allow for pickups and see how their site and service can be improved.
An enquiry form is still the most common way for visitors to reach Australian Vitmains however if required, other forms of contact are there.
For search optmisation, the page also allows for the uploading of content and the adding of various landmarks around Australia to maintain the Australian feel of the site.
